ANNUAL PARAMEDIC SUBSCRIPTION PROGRAM
To find out more about the Subscription Program and/or services, please call the Alhambra Fire Department at 626-570-5190.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT EMERGENCY TRANSPORT/EMERGENCY SERVICE CALLS:
- Residents who are not registered in the Paramedic Subscription Program but require medical attention/transport to a local hospital can expect an average bill of $900 for each transport, whereas the Paramedic Subscription Program is just $51 annually. The subscription fee covers uninsured co-payments most insurance companies, Medicare and Medi-Cal require you to pay.
- Emergencies are classified as any injury or illness requiring medical attention and transportation to a local emergency room or trauma center.
- A paramedic service fee (adopted from L.A. County's rate schedule) of $250 per service call will be charged when paramedics are called to respond to a location within the city but there is no need to be transported for additional care. These fees can be avoided entirely with membership in the Paramedic Subscription Program.
- After receiving paramedic transport services, residents will be billed in approximately one month, with a request for your insurance information. While insurance companies pay a percentage of the bill, Paramedic Subscription Program subscribers are not responsible for ANY of the remaining amount. Non-subscribers will receive the same service as subscribers, but will receive a bill and will be responsible for the ENTIRE AMOUNT of the bill.
