Addendum No. 1

The City of Alhambra is soliciting a Request for Proposal (RFP) which represents the initial step in the development of an affordable rental housing development project. The City’s goal is the development of a well-designed and well thought out project that will create affordable rental housing opportunities in the City’s Downtown district. The project will also contribute toward long-term enhancement of both economic and physical development of the Downtown Alhambra. The subject site is owned by the City of Alhambra and is currently used as an overflow surface parking lot immediately adjacent to the north to a public parking structure located at 103 N. Chapel
Avenue. Replacement parking to the existing 46 spaces is not expected to be included in the project and the public parking structure shall provide for the parking needs of the project. The site measures approximately 0.31 acres (13,750 square feet) with limited street frontage. It is identified as the northernmost portion of Assessor Parcel Number (APN) 5337-026-907.  

Complete written proposals must be submitted marked and received by the following deadline and as follows:

No later than 5:00 p.m. (PST) on Thursday, December 17, 2020 (see Addendum No. 1)

Postmarks and late proposals will not be accepted. Faxed or emailed proposals will also not be accepted. No exceptions will be made.

a) One (1) original unbound and five (5) bound copies of the proposal on 8½” x 11” paper with section separators.
b) Five (5) stapled sets of the Project Concept Drawings printed in color on 11” x 17” paper.
c) One electronic PDF format copy of all documents on a USB flash drive.
d) Submission of proposal shall be hand delivered or mailed to:

f) The City reserves the right to amend or supplement this RFP prior to the deadline. Clarifications and/or addenda will be issued at the City’s discretion. All amendments
and/or responses to questions will be posted on the City’s website at:

g) It is the responsibility of interested parties to check the City’s webpage regularly for any potentially new information as it relates to this RFP. Failure to obtain clarifications and/or addenda from the City’s website shall not relieve the consultant from being bound by any additional terms and conditions in the clarifications and/or addends or from considering additional information contained therein preparing your proposal. Any harm to the respondent from such failure shall not be valid grounds for a protest against award(s) made against this solicitation.

h) From the date of this RFP is released until the selection is announced by the City no communication outside the process set forth in this RFP with any City employees will be allowed. No questions other than written questions submitted during the Questions & Answers period will be accepted and no response(s) other than those posted on the City’s website will be provided. The City reserves the rights to reject any proposal for violation of this provision.
