Alhambra Recycles, an annual event sponsored by the City of Alhambra and Republic Services, focusing on the recycling of electronic products (i.e., computers, monitors, cell phones, TVs, VCRs, and such), plastic bottles and aluminum cans, as well as items appropriate for the Goodwill (including clothing, rugs, curtains, artwork, lamps, CDs, DVDs, videotapes, cookware, etc.) is scheduled for Saturday, November 4 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at Granada Park, at the Whitney parking lot, 2233 W. Whitney Dr.,Alhambra.

This is an annual opportunity to dispose of not only broken, inoperable, and superseded electronics that are clogging your hallways, but also to generate funds – through bottle and can recycling – to assist local non-profit organizations.

In addition to the recycling element of the event, there will be a secure document-shredding service available for personal and confidential documents.

It is important to note that NO household hazardous waste (HHW) items will be collected at this event. HHW should be taken to a County-sponsored collection event, held regularly at various locations throughout the Los Angeles region. For the locations and hours of mobile and permanent collection centers where you can properly dispose of household hazardous waste, visit or call 888-CLEAN-LA.

Participants are urged to arrive early in order to receive a gift certificate for a free scoop of Fosselman’s ice cream, available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
