What is considered a valid typing certificate?

Certain clerical and administrative support classifications require dexterity in the use of a keyboard and may require a typing certificate. Your typing certificate must meet the following criteria in order to qualify:

  • The typing certificate must verify a timed testing of not less than 5 minutes
  • The typing certificate must be issued and dated within six (6) months of the final filing date of the recruitment
  • The typing certificate must be a certificate issued by a government agency, temporary employment agency, business college, or public school system.
