Youth Academy

Investing in our youth is the key to building a stronger and safer community. Our Youth Academy is a dynamic program designed to educate and inspire young individuals, instilling in them the values of integrity, responsibility, and compassion. We are committed to preparing our students with vital skills for successful careers in the public or private sector.

Our instructors include sworn peace officers such as Detectives, Patrol Officers, School Resource Officers, and Dispatchers. They use a diverse range of teaching methods to engage students, including impactful videos, thought-provoking case scenarios, role-playing exercises, collaborative group work, and interactive hands-on learning activities. 

Students will learn about: 

  • Crime Scene Investigations
  • Internet Safety / Social Media
  • Traffic and Pedestrian Safety
  • Drugs / Alcohol / Vaping
  • Decision Making / Peer Pressure
  • Gangs / Gang Prevention
  • Leadership / Character Counts
  • Police Scenarios & More!

REQUIREMENTS


Students interested in attending the Youth Academy must be between the ages of 14 to 18 years old. The applicant must be attending an Alhambra Unified School District School or is an Alhambra resident. Additionally, the applicant must have at least a 2.0 GPA and no behavioral issues. Applicants with outstanding warrants, pending criminal court cases, a serious misdemeanor conviction, or any felony conviction, will not be invited to participate in the Youth Academy.
