The Alhambra Police Department Community Academy is a FREE course designed to provide an in-depth look at the principles and practices of a law enforcement agency.
The Community Academy classes are held one night a week over the span of six weeks. Participants in the program will learn about:
- Patrol Operations
- Homeless Outreach and Engagement Policing
- Officer Safety
- Narcotics
- Self-Defense Training
- and much more!
Students are given the opportunity to ride along with a patrol officer on duty. After completion of the program, each student graduates with a better understanding of how the Alhambra Police Department serves our community.
REQUIREMENTS
Alhambra residents and business persons interested in attending the Community Academy must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants with outstanding warrants, pending criminal court cases, a serious misdemeanor conviction, or any felony conviction, will not be invited to participate in the Community Academy.
