The mission of the Alhambra Police Department is to prevent crime, to protect lives and property, preserve the peace and order of the community and build a positive relationship with the community we serve.
Department Description
The Police Department is responsible for maintaining law and order in a community of approximately 85,000 people in an area of 7.69 square miles. This is accomplished through the efforts of over two hundred (200) sworn, non-sworn, part-time, and volunteer personnel. The Police Department coordinates with other City Departments to produce outstanding overall service to the community.
The Department is organized for results, presently having two Operational Divisions performing various activities including:
Budget and accounting, records keeping, and personnel services
Crime prevention, narcotic enforcement, and professional standards
General patrol, traffic enforcement, and investigations
