ALHAMBRA PARK VETERANS MEMORIAL

500 N. Palm Ave., Alhambra; Office: 626-570-3242 (Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.)

The Alhambra Park Veterans Memorial is located at the north end of the park in a serene setting with meandering paths, abundant plants and trees, seating, and a constantly flowing waterfall to encourage a sense of rest, reflection, and respect.
The memorial's motto, a quote by Thomas Jefferson, states that “The Price of Freedom is Eternal Vigilance” and is inscribed on a curved wall near the Memorial Rock. The waterfall and flag pole feature an American Flag and POW-MIA flag that is lighted 24/7. Bronze medallions designating each of the five branches of the armed forces are incorporated into the base of the water feature.
The Memorial was dedicated on June 6, 2009, the 65th anniversary of D-Day. The project was made possible in large measure through a federal grant secured by then Congressman Adam Schiff.
