Following the heels of its first successful development in Alhambra with the rehabilitation of the former Braun industrial complex into a vibrant urban campus, the Ratkovich Company is now proposing to expand its urban community. Since its inception, the "Alhambra" campus has created thousands of job opportunities with such tenants as Los Angeles County, USC Keck School of Medicine, Southwest Administrators, Tenet Healthcare, and AT&T, and provided area residents with a large array of shopping, dining, services and parking amenities. The Ratkovich Company is now in the process of complementing the office and commercial center with a residential component that would make it the region's first "urban community," offering a range of living and recreational conditions for the local workforce. This new urban community will emphasize green technology and a pedestrian oriented environment with a focus on an alternative transportation mode.
