Attempt to Lure Child

The Alhambra Police Department is issuing an alert warning of a suspicious subject that targeted a child in Alhambra.

On Thursday, January 25, 2018, a child walking home from Northrup Elementary School was approached by a motorist in the area of Atlantic Blvd. and Mission Rd. The subject attempted to lure the child into his vehicle using specific inducements designed to tempt children. Alhambra Police Department detectives are not releasing what the suspect said and offered at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

 

The child was able to recognize the suspect’s behavior as suspicious and fled to a nearby house. The time of the incident was determined to be approximately 1:10 P.M. 

 

The suspect was described as a Male Asian in his mid-30’s, short dark hair and dark eyes, clean shaven with a light to medium complexion. The suspect was driving a bright red sedan, possibly a Toyota Corolla, with light window tint. The suspect vehicle license plate possibly begins with a “7”.

 

The Alhambra Police Department is asking anyone who witnessed this incident, has been approached by this suspect, or who has any information that can lead to identifying this suspect, to call 911 or contact Detective Robert Lopez at 626-570-5159.
