At 2:47 this morning, Alhambra Police received calls from the 800 block of West San Marino Avenue advising of some type of disturbance or possibly a fight happening in the area. Responding officers located an unconscious man lying on a walkway within an apartment complex at 821 West San Marino. Alhambra Fire Department Paramedics responded but were unable to revive the victim.  He was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial examination of the victim showed no injury that would have explained his death. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office has begun their investigation and will determine the manner and cause of death at a later time.

A 26 year old resident at the complex who was originally identified as a person of interest in the case has been arrested for one count of Penal Code Section 187. The suspect is identified as Michael Osuna, 26 year old, male, Hispanic.  He is currently in custody at the Alhambra Police Station. Mr. Osuna’s bail has been set at $ 1, 000,000.  His first court appearance is scheduled for Monday, January 4, 2016 at Alhambra Court.

The victim is a 35 year old male Hispanic who does not live at the complex. It is unclear at this time why he was at the location and what, if any relationship he has with the suspect. The victim’s identity is not being released at this time.

The investigation is still active and detectives are asking anyone who may have information regarding the incident to call (626) 570-5156. Callers can remain anonymous.

We will be releasing more information as it becomes available.
