Poster Contest Winners Honored

Water Awareness Month, a national campaign celebrated annually in the City of Alhambra provides information to promote public interest in water and the role water agencies (such as the Alhambra Utilities Department) play in conservation, management, water supply, and water quality.

One means of communicating this important water conservation message is through an annual Poster Contest for Alhambra elementary school students. The contest, sponsored by the Utilities Department (and in 2007 the City's Arts and Cultural Events Committee), offers Savings Bonds to award-winning students worth from $50 to $200. A reception is held for the families and the winning students are recognized by the City Council.
