Proper maintenance of parkway trees includes deep watering trees on a regular basis, protecting the base of the trees from damage by weedwackers & lawn/ gardening equipment, preventing weeds from competing with the tree and maintaining all parkway landscaping.

 Tips on Caring for and
Protecting Parkway Trees

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

While the City of Alhambra Public Works Department oversees the planting and installation of parkway trees (the strip of lawn between the sidewalk and street), as well as major pruning, required tree
surgery, and treating for pests and diseases,
property owners are required to maintain their individual parkway areas.

The following information provides more specific information about caring for and protecting trees in the parkway area.
