 "National Night Out" Against Crime

Alhambra participates annually in the "NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME" event. In 2010, the event featured a "friendly" game of baseball starring members of the Alhambra Police Department vs. the Alhambra All-Star Little Leaguers. With the theme of "Safety is Fun," the event included booths on the City's Neighborhood Watch program, Safe Escape (a children's abduction & molestation prevention program),
Safe Moves (a safety traffic program) and Netsmartz (internet safety).

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME is intended to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
