"Distraction Type" Burglaries

DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!

Be Wary of All Strangers who Come Knocking at your Door

The Alhambra Police Department wants to remind  you to be extra careful when strangers come knocking at your door!

Over the past few weeks the Alhambra Police Department has investigated six reports from homeowners who were victims of "distraction type" burglaries.

In three of these occurrences, the homeowners were contacted at their residences by a woman claiming she was a city worker needing to check the backyard fence. When the woman engaged the residents in conversation, and asked them to accompany her to their backyards, an accomplice of the woman entered the victim's home and stole the victim's personal property, including cash and jewelry.

The woman noted above is, obviously, NOT A CITY OF ALHAMBRA EMPLOYEE! If you have any information regarding these crimes, or to report suspicious persons in your neighborhood -  or if you'd like a free "Think Safety Before You Open the Door" door hanger - call the Alhambra Police Department at (626) 570-5151.
