LEISURE ACTIVITIES GUIDE

To register for Leisure Classes & Activities, complete the   
form on the back of the Leisure Services Guide, then:

  • Phone (626) 570-3242 or fax (626) 284-0310
    your information with Visa or MasterCard in hand, (or)
  • Bring your form and payment to the Alhambra Park
    Office, 500 N. Palm Ave., Alhambra
    (Weekdays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., (or)
  • Mail your form & payment (no cash) to:
    City of Alhambra, Leisure Classes
    111 S. First St., Alhambra, CA 91801, (or) 
  • Drop off your form and payment in the
    night deposit slot at the First Street entrance to
    City Hall, 111 S. First St. Questions?

TEEN BASKETBALL LEAGUE 

 

 
Registration for the Teen Basketball League, for high school freshmen through seniors, begins at 8 a.m. on Monday,
February 13 and will run through Friday, March 23, 2012 at
5 p.m. (or until the league is full). Individuals/teams can
register at the Recreation Division Office at Almansor Park,
800 S. Almansor St., or by calling 626-570-5081.

The registration fee is $30 per person, and payable at the time
of registration by cashier's check, money order, company or personal check, cash (exact amount), or MasterCard/Visa.
Teens must be a resident of Alhambra (verification through a parent or guardian's utility bill) or attend Alhambra High School, San Gabriel High School, Mark Keppel High School, Century
High School (verification by school I.D. or report card).
Individuals are not guaranteed a roster spot, but every attempt
will be made to place an individual on a team.

A players meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 23 at 5 p.m.
in the Almansor Park activity room. Games will be played at Almansor Park Gym on Friday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and,
if needed, on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. For additional information, call the Recreation Services Offices at

Saturday, January 21 - Mountain High Ski Resort - 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Enjoy a beautiful family fun day of skiing or snowboarding at Mountain High.  Beginners (13+) can get a Beginner Package, which will provide everything you need (ski equipment, lessons and a lift ticket to the lower mountain). Experienced skiers (13+) can enjoy the whole day with the purchase of a Lift Ticket only. You may bring your own ski equipment or rent equipment from the Mountain, for an additional cost. New this year is the Children's Academy selection which includes a full day of lessons, ski and snowboard rentals, an 8-hour all-mountain lift ticket, lunch and a progress card. Chaperones (18+) must be present for anyone under age 18 years. Cost: Lift Ticket Only $55; Beginner Package $77; Children's Academy $100; Chaperone $15.
 
Saturday, March 17 - Taste of Solvang - 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Enjoy a
full day of shopping dining and exploring the many unique sites that only Solvang has to offer. The "Walking Smorgasbord" features 40+ taste stops around the quaint European village.

 

ADULT & YOUTH GOLF INSTRUCTION

  • Adult Golf - features new classes every month.
  • Junior Golf - is offered to youth 7 to 17 years of age for a
    total of 4 sessions per four-week period. Two sessions 
    are available: Wednesday at 3:30-4:30 p.m. or
    Saturday, 9-10 a.m.

AFTER-SCHOOL PLAYGROUND SITES
 

After-school youth recreation programs are held at nine school sites. Activities include team & individual sports and alternative programs. Alternative programs include: arts & crafts, table game tournaments, four square, kickball and new games. In case of rain, sites may be closed. For more information, call the Recreation Services Division office at 626-570-5081. Drop-in activitity: Participants are free to come and go without restriction.

**Registration is required for all Family Excursions. Space is limited and is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. A parent or  guardian must accompany children under the age of 18. Refund and Cancellation Policy - tickets are non-refundable. If your schedule changes, you may find a replacement on your own, or if a waiting list has been established, staff will furnish you with a possible replacement from the list. Family Excursions are subject to cancellation or schedule change if trip minimums are not met. If the City of Alhambra cancels a trip, participants will receive a full refund. If you have a physical disability and require special assistance, please notify staff at the time of registration. All excursions include round-trip, deluxe motorcoach transportation. All trips depart from and return to the Alhambra City Yard, 900 S. New Ave., Alhambra.
