RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT

 

  • Manage a range of human services to
    help enrich the lives in our community
     
  • Administer, manage and implement programs to maintain and beautify our parklands and recreational facilities
     
  • Administer, manage and implement
    leisure service programs, published in the Leisure Activities Guide, representing a variety of interests, ages, cultures and abilities
     
  • Coordinate community special
    events, civic and cultural programs, comprehensive senior program (mainly
    through the Joslyn Center), weekly
    farmer's market, community garden,
    senior transportation services,
    volunteer services and contract
    management of the Alhambra
    Municipal Golf Course 

 
Statute of Ralph Kiner located at Almansor Park.
Kiner grew up in Alhambra and became a Major
League baseball star. He was inducted into the
Baseball Hall of Fame in 1975.
