Supporting Your Library!

Pathway to Possibilities   While construction of the Alhambra Civic Center Library completed, there is still a need to fill empty shelves with new materials. Thus, it is not too late for you (an individual, a group of people, or an organization) to become a permanent part of this beautiful new civic structure. You can do it with  a modest donation of a commemorative brick (for $100), up to, and including, the naming of one of the three major building wings -- Children's Wing, Adult Non-Fiction Wing, Reference Wing at a $1,000,000 giving level. There are also numerous other naming opportunities throughout the new library, available in amounts between $1,000 and $1,000,000. • Your $250 donation can purchase...a Multi-Sensory Reading, Spelling & Penmanship CD-ROM program geared for those who have a learning disability;
• Your $200 donation can purchase...a subscription for Reading Upgrade, a web-based phonetics program for adult learners; Barton Reading System materials for 1 step (9 steps total); Mother Goose Programs, developed by an early childhood educator to develop reading for parents and their pre-schoolers (need 10 sets); Everyday Living CD-Rom products -- learning programs for basic, everyday reading and math skills; Training by Design, a video package to assist in training volunteers;
• Your $150 donation can purchase...From Home to Home Series, for parents of school age children to develop fluent reading skills and tools for making decisions that will nurture the child's development
• Your $100 donation can purchase...a complete set of Challenger Books; Wilson Reading System books and materials for one unit (12 units total);
• Your $50 donation can purchase...Alpha-Phonetics CD Rom, intensive phonics reading program;
  ...provide training materials for a new tutor;
• Your $25 donation can purchase...a one-year subscription of Easy English News for an adult learner (10 subscriptions needed); registration fee for Adult Learner of Tutor to attend literary conference; Proud-A keepsake book of stories in which parents/caregivers write about their children;
• Your $15 donation can purchase...a children's book for the Families for Literacy Program;
  ...a high interest book for an adult learner
