"Safe House" Locations in Alhambra for Children

Several years ago, the City Council and the City of Alhambra designated all Alhambra Fire Stations as "Safe Houses," and they want to remind all parents that children can receive welcome and appropriate assistance, going to or from school or at any other time, by visiting any of the following locations:

  • Alhambra Fire Station 71 Headquarters
    301 North First Street
  • Alhambra Fire Station 72
    1215 South Sixth Street
  • Alhambra Fire Station 73
    2200 West Main Street
  • Alhambra Fire Station 74
    2505 West Norwood Place

A "Safe House" is a designated home, fire station, or place of business where a child may go fo safety or assistance if they encounter a threat or other emergency. "Safe House" locations are marked with a distinctive placard for easy identification.

All designated "Safe House" locations have a responsible adult present during the hours that children travel to and from school. Children needing assistance will be able to approach the "Safe House" without fear, and know that there is someone trustworthy inside to help them.

If all personnel are out of these stations on a call, children can pick up the red phone at the front of each station, and a dispatcher will answer immediately to assist them.

Insure the safety of your children--tell them about the City of Alhambra "Safe Houses," always available for assistance to all children and adults. Also, click here for additional information about protecting your children from child abuse.
