The Alhambra Fire Department responds to approximately 5,000 fire, rescue, emergency medical, and hazardous material incidents per year. On average, fire crews can respond to the scene of an emergency and begin working within four to six minutes from the time of initial dispatch. The Department maintains four engine companies, one truck, one urban search & rescue vehicle and two paramedic ambulances on a 24-hour-a-day basis out of four stations. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ALHAMBRA FIRE DEPARTMENT 
  • Protect lives and property from fire and other disasters
  • Provide effective emergency medical services
  • Coordinate community safety awareness and fire prevention programs
  • Conduct plan checks and fire inspections
  • Issue public safety permits 
  • Safeguards the public from the dangers of hazardous waste
