  Zoning/Land Use Applications and Permits

Permits required from the Planning Division involve the following areas:

  • Grading - site preparation, excavation and/or backfill, soil compaction
    Note: California law makes it mandatory for all those who plan to do any digging or excavating to inform a regional notification center at least two working days in advance of your construction project. This applies to large construction projects as well as to putting in a back yard spa. Failure to do so can result in fines up to fifty thousand dollars.   • Shoring - support of temporary vertical cuts in soil
  • Demolition/relocation of buildings
  • Construction of walls or fences that are six feet or higher
  • Starting a New Business - Business Occupancy Permit
  • Starting a New Home-Based Business - Home Occupancy Permit
  • Signage
