Business License Renewals

EXISTING BUSINESS LICENSE RENEWALS AND UPDATES
  • Renew within 30 days of expiration to avoid penalties and interest charges
  • Make note of any changes or additions to information on the renewal form
  • Include the actual gross receipts for the previous year of business
  • Include signature(s) of the owner/officers on the renewal form
  • Pay all fees, which may include: 
    • $15 Renewal Fee
    • $10 Business License Update Fee 
    • Business License Tax, based on gross receipts and/or type of business.
      (See the Business License Tax Schedule and Flat Rates/Miscellaneous List.)  
    • Assessment District Fee (if located within the Assessment District).
      Call the Finance - Business License Division for Assessment District locations
  • Any penalty or interest amounts if submitted more than 30 days from the
    expiration date of the business license.
  • Any additional items such as occupancy or vehicle inspections should be scheduled.

DELINQUENT BUSINESS LICENSE RENEWALS

  • Renew license within 30 days of expiration of license to avoid penalties and interest charges.
  • Penalties are based on how many months the payment is late:
    • 1st month-10%
    • 2nd month-25%
    • 3rd month-50%
    • 4th month-75%
    • 5th month-100%
    • after 6 months a 1% interest rate is added for each month of tardiness, retroactively to the first month of delinquency
