  • Member, San Gabriel Valley Transportation Committee (1994-98) 
  • President, Independent Cities Association (ICA), representing 49 member cities

  • Board Member, Alhambra Unified School District (1998, 2000 & 2004);

  • Representative of the Alhambra Unified School District on the San Gabriel Parks & Recreation Commission and Joint-Use Committee with the City of Alhambra

Marital Status: Married to Michael Messina with three daughters and eight grandchildren,
all of whom live in the area and are active in the Alhambra community as well
