The Alhambra City Council is elected by the citizens of Alhambra to
guide the policy affairs of the community. The Council is composed of five members
elected at-large from five geographic districts of the City to serve four year terms.
Municipal elections are held in November every two years on even-numbered years.
Under a rotational system adopted in 1984, each of the Council members representing
the city's five districts serve as Mayor for a nine-month period. The City Council appoints
the City Manager, City Attorney and City Commission Members. The Council also
serves as the Board of Directors for the Alhambra Redevelopment Agency.

Agendas
Agendas are available in the City Clerk's office 72 hours prior to regular council
meetings. They are also posted at City Hall and here on the Alhambra web site. If you
would like to address the Council on a scheduled agenda item, you must complete
a Speaker's Card located on a table just outside the Chamber Room. Please identify
your name and address on the card, and the item you would like to address. Return
the card to the City Clerk. You will be called to speak when the matter comes up
for discussion.

Council Re-Broadcasts
If you are unable to attend a "live" council session, re-broadcasts are run on the
"off-Monday" and on the Thursday evening following the "live" council meeting at
7:30 p.m. on Channel 55. The Alhambra Public Library, 410 West Main Street,
also offers tapes of the meetings in the educational video section. The tapes
can be checked out for a period of one week.. Look for them under Dewey
Number 352. Tapes are available from the City Clerk's Office as well. They can
be viewed in the City Clerk's Office any weekday, Monday through Thursday from
7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additionally, copies
may be purchased from the City Clerk for a $10 fee. Please call their office at
