ARA/CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS

Regular ARA meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. and City Council meetings at 7 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers (unless indicated otherwise). CLICK HERE for upcoming and previous City Council Meeting agendas/minutes and webstreaming video.

The Alhambra City Council is elected by the citizens of Alhambra to
guide the policy affairs of the community. Each of the five Council Members is elected at large to serve a four-year term from five geographic districts. Municipal elections are held in November every two years on even-numbered years. Under a rotational system adopted in 1984, each of the Council Members will serve as mayor for a nine-month period. The City Council appoints the City Manager, City Attorney and City Commission Members. The Council also serves as the Board of Directors for the Alhambra Redevelopment Agency.

CITY COUNCIL AGENDAS
Agendas are available in the City Clerk's office 72 hours prior to regular council meetings. They are also posted at City Hall and here on the Alhambra web site. If you would like to address the Council on a scheduled agenda item, you must complete a Speaker's Card located on a table just outside the Chamber Room. Please identify your name and address on the card, and the item you would like to address. Return the card to the City Clerk. You will be called to speak when the matter comes up for discussion.

REBROADCASTS/WEBCASTS OF CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS
If you are unable to attend a "live" regular council session, you can also view it ONLINE.
Re-broadcasts are aired on "off-Mondays" and Thursday evenings following the "live" council meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Channel 3 (Charter only). The Alhambra Civic Center Library, 101 South First Street, offers DVDs in the educational video section. They can be checked out for a period of one week. Look for them under Dewey Number 352. The DVDs may be viewed in the City Clerk's Office any weekday, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Copies may be purchased from the City Clerk for $10. Please call 626-570-5090 in advance to have the tape set up for your viewing, or to be copied for your purchase.
