City of Alhambra Resolution

Council Recognition Awards and Special Presentations

From the October 24th City Council Meeting
Dr. Tim K. Siu and Frances Moore accept proclamation declaring October 24, 2011 as Alhambra Rotary Club World Polio Day. Rotary's World Polio Day initiative is intended to educate citizens about the importance to eradicate polio worldwide and invite them to support their goal of a polio-free world. Residents can donate at www.rotary.org. Contributions will help Rotary raise $200 million to match $355 million in challenge grants received from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The resulting $555 million will directly support immunization in developing countries where polio continues to infect and paralyze children.  [Photo]
