City of Alhambra (626) 570-5056 33 LIBRARY PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AT THE ALHAMBRA CIVIC CENTER LIBRARY December 2017- May 2018 Tuesday, December 5, 10:15 am Reese Hall Dance Party: Families with children ages 2-6 years old are invited to spend the morning dancing to the music at the library. Join us for lots of music, dancing, and stories. No registration is required. StoryTime Sessions Family Story Time: Wednesdays at 7 pm in the Story Time Room; For families with children ages 5-12 years. This program includes stories and other activities. Early Literacy Story Times @ the Alhambra Civic Center Library – ages 0-3 years Early Literacy Story Times are now being offered for children ages 0-3 years old in a series of 6-week sessions. Participants must register for each session and they will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis with priority given to Alhambra residents. Registration forms must be filled out in person in the Children’s Room by the child’s parent. In order to register their child, a parent must have a valid Alhambra Civic Center Library card. Children may only be registered for one Story Time each session that they meet the age requirement before the first program in the session. Due to space limitations, each registered child must be accompanied by one adult only at each Story Time program. Winter 2018 Session 1: January 9-February 15 (Registration begins January 6) Winter 2018 Session 2: February 20-March 22 (Registration begins February 17) Spring 2018 Session: April 3-May 10 (Registration begins March 31) Baby Story Time (0-18 months) – Thursdays, 10:15 am Toddler Story Time (18 months-3 years) – Tuesdays, 11:15 am Toddler Story Time (18 months-3years) – Tuesdays, 10:15 am Please call the Children’s Room at (626) 570-3215 for more registration information. Middle Grade Makers *Every Thursday at 2:00 pm in the Homework Center* Join us for unique educational activities and crafts each week in the Homework Center. This weekly event is designed for middle grade students ages 7-12 years old. No registration is required. Space and supplies are limited. Please note that all children 12 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult. LEGO® Club *Every Second Monday of the month at 6:00 pm in Ruth C. Reese Hall* Join us for monthly LEGO® Club. Each month will have a different (and surprise) theme around which to focus your LEGO® play. We’ll supply the bricks, you just bring your imagination! For children ages 4 and up. Stop by the Children’s Room to have your questions answered! High School volunteers are available to assist with daily homework assignments. No registration is required. Help is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. For ages 5-12. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30 pm. Please note that children 12 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult in the library at all times. Buster Balloon’s Christmas Special *Saturday, December 16 at 3:00 pm in Ruth C. Reese Hall* Enjoy a special edition of the Buster Balloon show with a dash of holiday magic including a gigantic balloon gingerbread house, a baby abominable snow man, and the secret of Santa’s cookie bag.
