The City of Alhambra will host a Town Meeting to inform the Alhambra community about the Los Angeles Community Choice Energy (LACCE) Program. The LACCE Program is an opportunity for the City to provide businesses and residents with a lower cost, green energy alternative to the energy services provided by Southern California Edison (SCE).
LACCE is a low-overhead, non-profit program. It works by replacing SCE’s electric procurement services with its own electric generation services. LACCE will generate cleaner electricity, which SCE will then carry and deliver to residents and businesses in the City of Alhambra. In addition, SCE will continue to provide billing services and powerline maintenance, and respond to power outages and other emergencies. Overall, this means that customers would not notice any change in their service, but they would see lower energy costs as they use cleaner energy to run their homes and businesses.
If you would like to know more about the LACCE Program, you are invited to attend the Town Meeting, which will be held at the Library’s Reese Hall on Monday, September 18, 2017, at 6:30 pm. Representatives from the Los Angeles County Office of Sustainability will give a presentation and be available to answer your questions.
