Noted author Ruthanne Lum McCunn will explore themes related to the Chinese-American experience in the past and present. In her novels, like Thousand Pieces of Gold: a Biographical Novel, she examines the story of Chinese pioneers adjusting to life in the American West, a theme she has continued to explore for decades. She'll discuss the difficulties involved in researching her stories and what she has learned about the ongoing experience of Chinese in America.
