The LACDC-Housing Authority assists low-income families and seniors to pay rent to
private landlords through the federal Section 8 housing program. To apply, you must call
and place your name on a preliminary Section 8 waiting list. When a registrant’s name reaches the top of the registration list, application materials are mailed to determine
eligibility based on a household's composition and income. Eligible families are then
placed on the application list. Once on the waiting list, information is updated every
60 days in accordance with federal requirements. When funding becomes available,
a Section 8 Housing Voucher can be issued.
