  Education

Alhambra offers
exemplary educational
opportunities for students of
all ages, including public and
private schools, and colleges
and universities.

The Alhambra public school
system (AUSD) has won
numerous academic awards.
And now to top off their
achievements, the Alhambra
Unified School District
Band has won an opportunity
to participate in the 2009 Rose
Parade - a tremendous honor!

Award-Winning Schools:
The Alhambra Unified School District is comprised of 13 elementary schools and six high schools with more than 53,000 students from kindergarten to twelfth grade, plus an adult school with more than 320 classes at 43 locations.

The District's high academic standards are exemplified by its strong commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, resulting in a plethora of Distinguished School Awards provided by the California Department of Education. See the awards list published on their website.

The Alhambra Adult School Parent Education Program offers a full program for working adults (see adult education web page). The program serves a diverse multiethnic/multicultural population that includes traditional and "non traditional" families. The program addresses specific needs of the working adult through easing attendance barriers and providing hot meals for the student and their children. For more program information, call (626) 308-2309.
