Help send kids to Summer Camp by coming to the YMCA Pancake Breakfast & Dog Show on May 10th.

The YMCA is sponsoring a family-style pancake breakfast to help send kids to camp. The breakfast will be prepared by YMCA board members and the Alhambra Firefighters Association. In addition, the Y's Kid's Camp Ambassador Christy Sham will make a special presentation and participants will have an opportunity to learn how to become healthy and fit while walking your dog.

The Basset Hound Dog Club will present a dog show at 9 a.m., emphasizing the importance of keeping your dog healthy and fit, too. Petsmart of Alhambra will have a booth with free gifts for your pets.

Participants will also be able to register for Summer Day Camp, enjoy face painting, games and play in the big bounce.

The event price is: Adults $5; Children $3. Prices include unlimited pancakes, tasty sausage, milk, orange juice and fresh coffee. All proceeds go to the Kids-to-Camp Fund, which sends less fortunate kids in the Y's service communities of Alhambra, Monterey Park, Rosemead and San Gabriel to summer camp for a week at Camp Ta Ta Pochon in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains.

There, kids sleep in a cabin, go on wilderness hikes, canoe in Lake Jenks, learn archery, crafts, climb the climbing wall, swim in the pool, and sit around a camp fire at night under the stars. For many children, this is their first trip away from home.
