Caltrans I-10 Freeway Restoration Project Gets Underway in Alhambra & Surrounding Communities

For weekly project updates and lane closure information, click here.

A project to restore the San Bernardino Freeway (I-10), in both directions, between the Golden State Freeway (I-5) and the San Gabriel River Freeway (I-605) is underway. The work includes replacement of damaged slabs, upgrading bridge rail, widening shoulders, and realigning ramps within the project limits.

The benefits of the project, anticipated to cost $167 million, will include a smoother, safer drive for motorists. Pavement restoration will reduce time required for maintenance and minimize the need for lane closures.

Until the project is completed (approximately spring 2011), Caltrans will be closing ramps on a continuous, long-term basis. Thus, motorists are advised to be aware of closed ramp locations and to adjust their commute accordingly. The following is a schedule of ramp closure details provided by Caltrans for both eastbound and westbound directions. Note that planned closure dates may change due to weather or other foreseen circumstances.
