“Alhambra Beautiful” is a term that many Alhambra homeowners consider an apt description of their beloved hometown. “Alhambra Beautiful” is also a description of a program, originally developed by the late Helen Wysong who, with a small group of committed Alhambrans, urged Alhambra homeowners to be diligent in keeping up their properties and recognizing those who did so in an outstanding manner.
The Alhambra City Council, in recent years, reinstituted the Alhambra Beautiful program and has, each year, recognized and commended a group of ten homeowners who, through their consistent and successful efforts, have developed outstanding properties that rate as the best-of-the-best beautiful Alhambra homesites.
Mayor Barbara Messina and the Council recently honored the 2012 Alhambra Beautiful honorees who have “demonstrated a pride of ownership and excellence in home upkeep and maintenance. Their extraordinary efforts have helped contribute to the overall appearance of the City’s landscape which benefits the entire community.
Each honoree received not only a Certificate of Commendation, but a special “Alhambra Beautiful” sign that they can proudly post on their outstanding properties.
